Every public and registered independent school in South Africa already has a page, built from official EMIS data.

Sign in with your school email
On your school's page, choose "Sign in with your school email" and enter the email address we have on file for the school. We send a sign-in link to that address. No password is needed. If we have no address for your school, or you cannot get into that inbox, the sign-in page says what to email us instead.

Add your details
Add as much or as little as you like: a single phone number or a full page. We confirm an update really comes from your school before anything goes live, and school-provided information is always labelled as such.

Common questions from schools
Does this cost anything?
No. Updating your school's details is free and will stay free. There is no premium placement to buy — no school can pay to appear higher or look better.
How do you verify that a request comes from the school?
A sign-in link only ever goes to an address already on record for your school, never to one supplied with the request. That is the address in the Department of Basic Education's EMIS records, or the one your provincial education department publishes in its own school directory. Many schools have no EMIS address, so the provincial directory is usually the one we hold. If we hold neither, someone at SchoolSeek checks the address you give us against those official records before any link is sent, and nothing is published until someone signs in from it.
Will the information we add change how our school is compared to others?
No. Comparisons and statistics on SchoolSeek come only from official data — EMIS records and DBE-published matric results. School-provided information is displayed in its own clearly labelled section and never affects them.
What if the official data on our page is wrong?
Official statistics come from the Department of Basic Education's EMIS dataset, so corrections need to flow through EMIS too — but use the "Report a correction" link on your page and we'll flag clear errors and note verified corrections where we can.
How long does it take for our updates to appear?
We verify updates within 2 business days and they go live within a few hours of approval.
